Bird box for smaller birds.

A conventional designed box having just single skin walls. The roof is double layered and is made from one layer of 19mm marine ply with a metal roof over the top to resemble a humans house.

Inside the box there is a chicane style passage that is big enough to let small birds through but tight enough to keep larger birds and predators at bay. This also offers seclusion to the nesting birds away from line of sight from the entrance.

At the entry there is a balcony for the incoming birds to land on. You will also notice there is a small gap between the balcony and the front wall, designed to allow air in and water out should any rain blow in through the opening.

Mounting for this style of box is either via hangers which you can see in the photos (These come as part of the box) or alternatively you could place the bird box on top of a post.
